You can be even in Europe to make American pancakes! Okay, okay, let’s get more serious 😊. So, American pancakes is a good choice for your breakfast and it’s a perfect way to start your morning. The recipe is not very hard. You can eat American pancakes with your favorite jam or even honey.
- 130 g flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 eggs
- 150 ml milk
- 2-3 tablespoons sugar
- 0.5 teaspoon vanilla sugar
- 0.5 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- Pinch salt
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
When preparing American pancakes, eggs and milk should be at room temperature, thus, take care of that in advance.
Combine flour with baking powder, stir well and sift the flour. Crack eggs in a separate bowl. Whisk them, then add sugar, vanilla sugar, salt, ground nutmeg and whisk again. Pour vegetable oil, milk (at room temperature). Add flour and baking powder mixture. Whisk once again.
It is time to start cooking pancakes. Cook pancakes in a heavy-bottomed pan. Heat the pan and smear with vegetable oil. Add few spoons of batter and cook until nicely brown. Flip the pancake so that both sides would be evenly brown. Put cooked pancakes one on another to form a pile.
Serve instantly, while warm. You can add a piece of butter on top of the pile or cover with honey. You can eat them with jam also.
