Gong Bao is a spicy Chinese dish made of chicken, veggies, peanuts and some other ingredients. Oh! Don’t forget chili peppers. Chili is what makes Gong Bao spicy. Try our recipe and make yourself a nice Gong Bao dinner.
Ingredients
- 300 g chicken fillet
- 100 g peanuts (without shell)
- Black pepper
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 2 teaspoons vinegar
- 1 teaspoon rice wine
- A little piece of ginger
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 2 dried red chili peppers
Preparation
Cut chicken fillet into little pieces and place them in a bowl. Add soy sauce, whisked egg yolk, salt, grated ginger and rice wine. Stir everything thoroughly and set aside for 10 minutes.
Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a skillet. Throw peanuts into the skillet and cook for few minutes. Stir when cooking. Then remove from the pan.
Add additional 1 tablespoon of oil in the skillet and place chopped chili peppers, minced garlic cloves and a little bit of black pepper. Cook until you can smell a nice fragrance in your kitchen. Transfer chicken into the skillet and cook over high heat. Cook for 3 minutes, stirring all the time. Pour 1 teaspoon of soy sauce, add sugar, vinegar and return the peanuts to the skillet. Cook for another 2 minutes.
