creamy swiss cheese soup

Creamy soup (or we can even call it stew) is more delicious with a great amount of grated Swiss Emmental cheese sprinkled on top. This is a warming soup that we suggest eating for dinner. Check this recipe. 😉

Ingredients

  • 2 slices white bread
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1l water or broth
  • 100g grated Emmental cheese
  • 100g whipping cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 pinch caraway
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped parsley
  • 1 pinch ground nutmeg
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch black pepper

Preparation

Cut bread in cubes. Melt butter in a skillet and brown bread cubes.

In a pot, bring the water to a boil. Add bread cubes and caraway. Cook for about 10 minutes over a low heat. Pour milk and whipping cream.

Remove the pot from heat. Add cheese, spices and parsley while constantly slowly stirring the soup.
