It may sound like Crepes is a very difficult meal to make. It is not. It is not harder than making pancakes. It is just the fancy French name that makes the dish look difficult to prepare. So don’t worry and get your hands ready!
- 2 eggs
- 150 g flour
- 1 tablespoon butter (for batter)
- 300 ml milk
- Pinch salt
- Butter or oil (for sauteing)
- 100-120 g hot smoked ham
- 300 g cheese
- 0.5 onions
- Pinch ground black pepper
Put eggs, flour, salt, milk and melted butter in a large bowl and stir everything until the batter is smooth (you also can use blender to mix the batter).
Put a piece of butter in a skillet over the heat and melt it (or you can use oil instead of butter). Add about 2-3 tablespoons of batter in the skillet and tilt the skillet to evenly coat bottom. Cook until the top seems to be dry and yellow and then flip it with the help of spatula and your fingers. Cook the other side for another 15-20 seconds. Repeat with the remaining batter, melting more butter when needed.
Now it is time to fill the crepe with the filling. To make the filling, you need to chop ham into strips, grate cheese and finely chop onion. Combine ham, cheese and onion and season the filling with black pepper. Place some filling on each of the crepe and tightly roll them up.
Cook crepes on a skillet for a bit until golden brown and a little bit crispy.
Enjoy your crepes!
