The best Meatballs you have ever had or will have in your life is Swedish Meatballs. This cuisine masterpiece is usually served with cranberry jam. So, try this recipe and see for yourself how amazing they are!
- 400g minced beef
- 300g minced pork
- 1 onion
- 2 eggs
- 100ml milk
- 120g breadcrumbs
- 0.5 teaspoons thyme
- 0.5 teaspoons salt
- 1 pinch ground black pepper
For the sauce:
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 400ml beef broth
- 3 tablespoons sour cream
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
Finely chop onion. Saute onion in butter until nicely yellow and translucent. Set aside to cool down.
Combine minced beef, minced pork, spices, eggs, onion, breadcrumbs and milk. Stir everything well. Knead the mass with your hands.
Form small meatballs and arrange them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Cook in the oven for about 30-35 minutes until meatballs are cooked through.
Arrange you time because sauce preparation will take about only 10minutes.
Melt butter in a skillet. Pour flour while constantly stirring and cook for few minutes while stirring. Add beef broth and bring to a boil. Don’t forget to constantly stir. Add sour cream, stir and cook for about 1 minute.
Serve the meatballs with the sauce, mashed potatoes and cranberry jam.
