Ukrainian turkey and pork meatballs

Ukrainian meatballs is actually a very interesting dish that contains such ingredients as ground pork and ground turkey, mayonnaise, chicken broth, eggs or tomatoes. Even though, these ingredients seem not compatible with each other, they are and the result of combining all of these ingredients is really amazing. Try the recipe for yourself!

Ingredients

  • 500g ground pork
  • 500g ground turkey
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 egg
  • 1 handful parsley
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 3 tablespoons breadcrumbs
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • 5 tomatoes
  • 0.5 cups chicken broth

Preparation

Combine ground pork and ground turkey together.

Crack the egg, add the breadcrumbs, mayonnaise and spices.

Stir in the finely chopped onion and parsley and squeezed garlic to the meat.

Combine everything well. Form meatballs. Cook in a skillet until the meatballs brown from on both sides.

Cut the tomatoes in pieces and sift them through a strainer. Season the tomatoes with salt and black pepper. Combine the tomato puree with the chicken broth.

Transfer the meatballs to a baking dish. Arrange them in a single layer. Cover with the mixture of tomatoes and chicken broth.

Cover with a lid or foil and cook in the oven (preheated to 220 degrees Celsius) for about 20 minutes.
